At Bohlevale State School, students have the opportunity to audition for instrumental music instruction on the following instruments:
Year 3
- Violin
- Cello and
- Double Bass
Years 3-6
- Flute
- Clarinet
- Saxophone
- Trumpet
- Trombone and
- Percussion
Department funding provides selected children with one small group lesson per week and access to our loan instruments for a year.
Students in the program who practice regularly and reach an appropriate standard, will have the opportunity to play in our string ensemble or school band. The musical groups rehearsals usually run during break times and consolidate musical learning from small group lesson time.
Students at Bohlevale who are members of the instrumental program have opportunities throughout the year to participate in performances on assemblies, to parents and to their peers.
